Loop Industries has announced a multi-year offtake agreement with Nike that will see the sportswear brand become a major customer of the Infinite Loop India manufacturing plant, currently under construction in partnership with Ester Industries in Gujarat.

Under the agreement, Loop will supply Nike with Twist, its virgin-quality circular polyester resin produced exclusively from textile waste. The material is intended to reduce reliance on both virgin polyester and recycled PET flake across Nike’s product lines, supporting the brand’s wider sustainability objectives.

The Infinite Loop India facility is projected to deliver substantial environmental benefits compared with conventional fossil fuel-based polyester production. Once operational, it is expected to achieve an 81% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions, with annual savings of up to 418,600 tonnes of CO2.

All products made using Twist will feature full traceability enabled by Loop’s proprietary chemical tracer technology, providing verifiable proof of textile-to-textile recycled content throughout the supply chain.

Commenting on the agreement, Sitora Muzafarova, vice president of Nike’s materials supply chain, said the partnership represents a key step in transforming textile waste into high-performance materials while scaling solutions that combine environmental impact with product excellence.

Daniel Solomita, founder and chief executive officer of Loop Industries, said the commitment from Nike validates the company’s strategy to provide verifiable textile-to-textile polyester resin and to advance circular fashion solutions for apparel customers.
