Bangladesh US apparel supplier, import market data chart, Bangladesh ranks second garment supplier to America 2026
First of all, official OTEXA figures confirm Bangladesh kept its No.2 position for US apparel imports Jan-May 2026.
Its export value fell 8.1% YoY to
$3.25 billion, better than the overall US apparel import decline of 9.3%.
Vietnam remains the top supplier with 1.5% export growth reaching $6.39 billion.
Meanwhile, China’s US garment shipments plunged 42.8% in value and nearly 30% by volume.
Cambodia and Indonesia saw strong growth at 14.9% and 5.5% respectively, while India’s exports dropped 26.4%.
US tariffs and supply chain diversification push buyers away from Chinese manufacturing.
Furthermore, Bangladesh maintained stable export pricing with only a 2% slip to $2.99 per SME.
Its unit value sits higher than China, Pakistan and Cambodia, yet lower than Vietnam, Mexico and Honduras.
China holds the lowest average price, focusing on low-cost, high-volume clothing products.
In addition, Bangladesh’s steady unit prices prove export volume cuts, not price discounts, caused shipment declines.
Mexico claims the highest apparel price thanks to geographic proximity and high-value finished goods.
Global buyers prioritize balanced cost and quality when sourcing Southeast Asian garments.
