The Uttar Pradesh government has approved five new textile parks to strengthen local garment manufacturing across the state.
As a core industrial development project, this scheme targets both large-scale investors and local small and medium-sized garment enterprises.
In addition, the whole project operates under the Sant Kabir Textile and Apparel policy framework, which is designed to build complete integrated textile value chains covering raw yarn all the way to finished clothing products.
Unlike traditional government-only industrial zones, these five textile parks adopt a public-private partnership operating model.
Specifically, the local Uttar Pradesh government takes charge of supplying construction land and supporting basic public infrastructure for all parks.
Meanwhile, private industry partners will be responsible for follow-up investment, including factory construction, production technology upgrades and daily factory operational management.
By launching this batch of textile industrial parks, Uttar Pradesh hopes to establish itself as a vital national hub for garment manufacturing in India.
Furthermore, the integrated industrial layout will lower production costs for local textile factories and strengthen the competitiveness of domestic garment exports in the global market.
Ultimately, the policy aims to drive more job opportunities within the textile supply chain and accelerate the development of the regional textile economy.
